Countertops and flooring. Kitchen and bathroom countertops and home flooring materials are often on sale during the month of March. As inventory is restocked, prices drop on last year’s styles.
Home and garden. Expect seasonal discounts on plants and garden equipment, indoor and outdoor paint, tools and home repair supplies as DIYers venture outside to get their homes in shape. Ditto for outdoor grills and patio furniture. You’ll typically find the best selection during March through May.
Digital cameras. As new models are stocked, older model digital cameras drop in price, Consumer Reports says. If you can resist the lure of the newest features, March is a great time to buy.
Furniture. Smart shoppers can score furniture deals on last year’s styles as the industry preps for its semi-annual furniture market trade shows in April (and again in October) in North Carolina, a major furniture manufacturing hub in the United States.
Winter gear. From snow shovels and snow blowers to blankets and throws, cold-weather gear is heavily discounted well into March to make room for all the spring merchandise. Space heaters are another item to drop in price as demand falls. Ditto for winter apparel and sporting gear.
